June 2012/Polytunnel at Pencrugiau June2012

We have cleared most of the spring crops, except Spring Greens and Spinach Beet, and have planted Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Sweet Peppers and Courgettes, and sown French Beans. Basil and Chilli Peppers will be going in shortly. This spring’s extremely changeable weather conditions have showed just how essential protected cropping  - ie polytunnels – is in ensuring supply during the “hungry gap”
